Roller coaster ride for new tractor sales

Roller coaster ride for new tractor sales

Having climbed to a welcome high in September, new tractor registrations dipped sharply once again during the month of October.

Figures released by the AEA show that sales of new tractors (+50hp) totalled 671 units compared with 771 units registered in the same month last year, which equates to a drop of 13%. These latest numbers contrast starkly with the 1,187 units registered in September 2020 which reflected a year-on-year increase of 18% and were double the sales recorded for the previous month of August 2020.

It certainly has been a topsy-turvy year, but the overall trend remains downward. Between January and October this year 8,541 tractors were registered as opposed to 10,898 units in the same 10-month period in 2019 – a reduction in sales for the year-to-date of just over 21%.

If you are one of the many farmers delaying or even shelving the decision to invest in a new tractor, you may instead be looking at ways of extending the capabilities of your existing machine. Lynx offers a whole range of products designed to take the versatility of your tractor into new territory including Stoll front loaders, Zuidberg front linkages and PTOs, Zuidberg tracks, Dromone pick-up hitches, Flexxaire reversing cooling fans, Streamline front presses and a wide variety of weight packages.

All Loaded up and on her way home. We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. It makes all of those long hours from the team restoring her worthwhile.

We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show, with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. The main question is, where to go next for the 6800?
