The Knife Roller is available in a 6.3m working width and can be folded up hydraulically at any time.
The Knife Roller cuts, crushes and breaks up stubble and plant residues which are then pressed firmly to the ground by the trailing roller. Manufactured from hardened boron steel with a cutting edge to both sides, the powerful Knife Roller operates at high rotational and impact speeds of between 15 and 20 km/h, to shred plant residues quickly and effectively. It’s also a highly effective way to control pests in maize stubble including aphids and the European corn borer which can have a devastating impact on maize crop yields.
Featuring rotating knives across three offset sections in a chevron pattern, the knife rollers are suspended from the frame by rubber bearings. This absorbs minor shocks and vibrations which would otherwise be transferred to the frame. Pre-tensioned hydraulic cylinders can be individually adjusted for pressure to optimise contact with the ground.
