How to add versatility and value to existing and second-hand tractors

How to add versatility and value to existing and second-hand tractors

As reported recently by the AEA, UK agricultural tractor (+ 50hp) registrations in January continued the downward trend recorded in late 2019. Just 477 machines were registered, compared with 692 units in the same month last year.

Significantly higher than average rainfall in the autumn may go some way to explaining the reduction in orders, as could disappointing crop and livestock prices. Uncertainty surrounding Brexit and the market in general has also been a factor. And, while farmers, especially in England, get to grips with the pros and cons of the new Agriculture Bill, that uncertainty looks set to prevail for a while longer yet.

The bottom line is that farmers are keeping a tighter rein on their expenditure, with many looking at the second-hand market or ways to extend the life, versatility and value of their existing tractors. Adding a front loader, for example, can transform your tractor’s productivity and in some cases remove the need for a second machine.  STOLL front loaders are available from Lynx for most tractor makes and models of virtually any age. Other retrofit implements from Lynx designed to expand tractor capability include front linkages, PTOs, rubber track systems and pick-up hitches, whilst our reversible cooling fans, weight packages and tractor engine tuning technology can improve performance and reduce fuel costs.

All Loaded up and on her way home. We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. It makes all of those long hours from the team restoring her worthwhile.

We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show, with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. The main question is, where to go next for the 6800?
