New STOLL ISObus front loader debuts at LAMMA

Making its UK debut on the Lynx Engineering stand (Hall 20: Stand 520) at LAMMA 2024 is Stoll’s brand new ISObus compatible ProfiLine front loader.

The Stoll ProfiLine+ ISOBUSconnected system delivers full integration of the front loader controls with the tractor system via the tractor’s onboard joystick and ISObus terminal. Once installed, as many as 12 additional functions become available, being selected via the tractor’s display terminal and set according to parameters defined by the operator. These are over and above the loader’s standard functions of lifting and lowering, tilting and crowding, plus 3rd and 4th hydraulic circuits that facilitate easier operation of hydraulic implements.

Importer for the UK and Ireland, Lynx Engineering, claims this latest development from Stoll will offer a number of important advantages for farmers and contractors looking to add a high performance front loader to their existing tractors. “The plus points of enhanced operator comfort, convenience and safety that come with a fully integrated tractor/loader control platform are self-evident. Less so are the innovative hidden features within this system that will make investing in the retrofit of a new front loader an even more attractive proposition,” said Lynx managing director, Nick Ewbank.

“Key is the fact that Stoll have incorporated all the required system components including sensors and a newly designed valve within the loader arm. This means that, subject to the usual compatibility checks, virtually any make or model of ISObus equipped tractor can be fitted with the new loader. Furthermore, fitting the loader and connecting it with the tractor’s existing ISObus control platform will take substantially less time in the workshop compared with a typical assembly routine requiring a separate, dedicated loader control system, joystick and hydraulics,” he explained.

Manufacturers, Stoll, also believe that no comparable ISObus-driven front loader currently available in the UK market offers the same number of functions in a single package as that offered by the Stoll ProfiLine+ ISOBUSconnected system. It offers no fewer than 12 ISO functions on ProfiLine FS+ models including electronic hydraulically controlled self levelling, while FZ loader variants, which are already equipped with Z-Kinematics self levelling as standard, offer 11 ISO functions.

We expect that it will be several months before the first of the new loaders will be available to order through our dealer network. Phased in over time, the ISOBUSconnected system will ultimately be available across all ProfiLine FS and FZ loader models.

STOLL ProfiLine+ ISOBUSconnected functions

Teach-In

Automatically enables individual movement sequences of the lift arm and tool to be programmed in, saved and called up for future repeated movement cycles.

Pressure Regulation

This function enables convenient and safe use of a bale grab, as the clamping force can be individually limited. The control unit regulates the hydraulic pressure in the 3rd function via the valve to a pre-defined value. This function also prevents overloading, e.g. due to jamming, of a hydraulic actuator.

Load Independent Lowering Speed

This function maintains the same lowering and lifting speed irrespective of the load by automatically adjusting the return oil flow to suit the weight of the implement.

Return to Position

Tool and swing arm can be automatically steered into pre-selected positions at the touch of a

button for faster repeat loading cycles.

Ramp Function

Enables pre-selection of the desired working reaction speed. Ramp time is defined as the time that elapses from initial joystick movement to full movement of the control piston. This function is load-independent.

Working Window

A real bonus when working in confined spaces or barns with low headroom, this function limits the tipping angle of the attachment and the lifting height of the lift arm by electronically adjusting the end points.

Load Weighing

Accurately calculates weights to make loading a feeder, for example, a quicker, easier process. Works by deducting the pre-calibrated and saved weight of the tool in use from the total weight shown on the display to give an exact measurement.

Vibration Damping

This adjustable, load-independent system comes into its own when travelling along uneven road surfaces. It works by deploying the loader attachment as a mass absorber via a switchable accumulator. This dampens the vibrations of the vehicle body accordingly. The loader attachment can also be isolated from the body reducing vibrations transferred to it from the chassis.

Electronic Flow Sharing

This enables the smooth switching and mixing of functions including the Stoll Real 3rd function by automatically adjusting pump volumes to optimum levels.

End-Position Cushioning

Prevents harsh and sudden braking movements of the loader attachment when reaching the cylinder end position. By automatically calculating the kinetic energy and determining the required deceleration distance the approach to the end position is gentle yet dynamic.

Bucket Shake

If material gets stuck in the bucket, the shaking function can be activated. The bucket is moved back and forth quickly, and the material falls out leaving nothing behind. The duration can be adjusted.

Electronic Hydraulic Parallel Levelling (FS+ models only)

High precision and rapid emptying are the main benefits of this function. With parallel guidance, the implement is automatically held in the defined position when the front loader is moved up and down. The angle to the ground is automatically corrected so that the position of the implement in relation to the ground remains the same.

Note:

FZ+ loader models are equipped as standard with Z-Kinematics self-levelling

All Loaded up and on her way home. We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. It makes all of those long hours from the team restoring her worthwhile.

We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show, with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. The main question is, where to go next for the 6800?
