‘Bumper’ enquiries at Cereals

‘Bumper’ enquiries at Cereals

Some sunshine and the occasional heavy shower did nothing to dampen the interest in the range of products on display on our stand at this year’s CEREALS event. For all of us here at Lynx, the show was both enjoyable and successful as we welcomed lots of visitors and took plenty of enquiries on our stand next to the Sprayers arena.

Making their CEREALS debut and attracting particular interest was our new range of AGRIbumper variable front weight and tractor bumper systems. All AGRIbumper products combine the benefits of variable front weight flexibility with high-visibility features designed to give other road users more visual awareness of a tractor on the road and its width. These include LED daytime running lights, indicators, width marker poles and reflective chevrons.

Unique system

Exclusive to AGRIbumper is their Baseline System. Its unique design allows the product to be fitted around a tractors front linkage leaving the arms free to be used for implement lifting and carrying. That’s a really useful feature when you’re operating both front and rear mounted mowers or other set-ups requiring a front mounted implement such as a hopper or press working in tandem with heavy kit such as a drill or a cultivator to the rear. The Baseline framework also accepts special add-on weights to ballast the tractor front axle for better in field traction and performance.

Variable density technology

Also on show was the AGRIbumper Fronthitch Line – a new toolbox weight that mounts on the tractor’s front linkage. It is a steel encased weight, compact in size, with a 65-litre toolbox. Using similar variable density technology as other weights in the Lynx range, the  size of the weight does not change. The weight ranges from 400-1000kg in 200kg increments.

AGRIbumper lines offered by Lynx also include the front-linkage mounted Toolbox Line featuring a spacious 145-litre cargo box and variable front weights up to 1800kg, and the FixLine range which provides solutions for tractors with no front linkage fitted.

More on display

Other machinery on the Lynx stand included a New Holland tractor fitted with a Stoll ProfiLine FZ41-25 loader with bucket and rear counterweight, an extensive range of Dromone pickup hitches and D80 ball hitches, Zuidberg Front Linkages and PTO systems, a Düvelsdorf 3m Grass Rake Expert system with air seeder, and examples of Front Weight Systems using different cast materials and variable density technology.

Our venue verdict

As for this year’s show venue at Bygrave Woods, Newnham Farm in Hertfordshire, our verdict was generally positive. The showground was flat and relatively compact compared with previous years. Access to the site from the road network was good, with no serious hold-ups. However, signposting from the A1 to the event could have been better – especially to the Exhibitor Car Parks. The show site itself could also have benefited from more maps and signposting in and around the show instead of being concentrated around the perimeter. Apart from those minor gripes, the venue ticked most of the right boxes.

With CEREALS done and dusted for another year, next stop The Royal Highland Show. We hope to see you there!

All Loaded up and on her way home. We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. It makes all of those long hours from the team restoring her worthwhile.

We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show, with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. The main question is, where to go next for the 6800?
