Our JD 6800 restoration – the full story

Ever since making its UK debut at LAMMA in January, our John Deere 6800 restoration project has generated a phenomenal amount of interest and we’ve had countless messages of congratulations from farmers, contractors, dealers, classic tractor enthusiasts and the media alike.

It’s been a true labour of love, with lots of challenges, delays and highs and lows along the way to test the patience and skills of our project team of Greg Allen, Mark Purves and Sam Ewbank. And it’s all been recorded in near forensic detail in a series of articles published by PROFI magazine, which followed the progress of the project from us receiving the tractor to revealing the stunning finished product.

If you’re someone who likes to delve into the more technical nitty-gritty, you can read all 5 in-depth PROFI articles covering the restoration by clicking on the image.

Of course, there’s no substitute for seeing the stunning finished restoration in the metal. So, if you’re heading to the Cereals event or The Royal Highland Show in June, be sure to stop by at the Lynx stand and see for yourself what all the fuss is about!

Also on display will be a variety of products from the Lynx range including the very latest Stoll Next Generation ProfiLine front loader (the main image at the top of this article shows our JD 6800 fitted with the ProfiLine FZ43-27 model), Zuidberg front linkages and PTOs, a range of front-mounted weight packages including integrated toolbox designs, and the latest technology in pick-up hitches and coupling systems from Dromone.

We look forward to seeing you there!

All Loaded up and on her way home. We had a great time at the Ripon Farm Services Show with many reminiscing stories and plenty of compliments about our 6800 and attachments. It makes all of those long hours from the team restoring her worthwhile.
